Just finished the game after my Xbox came back from repair, great great great game. I like the progression in the campaign of introducing you slowly to all the units and tactics, then tossing you in the command chair of the biggest combined arms battle I've yet experienced on the 360.Having two carriers, battleships, cruisers, a dozen destroyers, subs, landing craft, all at your command.wow. The ships themselves look awesome, and the damage effects are phenominal. Torpedo a ship in the engine room and her back will break, actually lifting the vessel out of the water before sinking.which bring me to another tangent, the water! My god water has never looked so beautiful!Ack, alright, I need to go play it right now.

Click to expand.Pfft, 5' DP guns and all that, and its hard to sink me when I sink your carrier with a broadside, bitchI loved the missions where you had 1 or two Iowas, it was just pure rape if they got into range. I almost always used my airpower for air cover, and let the ships just rape everyone. Because against a strong enemy, your planes could do meager damage to enemy carriers because the support ships would blow them out of the sky.
But if your BB got into range, they were in for a world of hurt. Granted, it also sucked that while you had limited aircraft, the Japanese had unlimited.
It bugs me how weak dive bombers are - even a 2000 lb bomb does nothing compared to the damage the torpedoes do. The strategic view interface is terrible - they really should have done more to take advantage of the keyboard and mouse.Also, for those of you on the PC, I've found a few mods that can unlock all the unlocks and one that sets your command points to 999999 (be careful though, the AI goes nuts! I've cut mine down to 5000, which is a little more reasonable)This game needs a map editor.
