Trying to fix an issue on my fathers computer.He's using Windows Live Mail to host his email account from the ISP (eg:. Email address is removed for privacy.). Personally I hate these email accounts and want him to move to a Gmail or Outlook online email account, but he wants to stick with this. Anyway, for some reason recentlyit keeps downloading thousands of his old emails that he's deleted. I've found other forums posts saying to right click on the Inbox or other folders, go toProperties, Synchronizing tab, then change it so that it only synchronizes new emails.When I get him to right click on the inbox or others, and then going into Properties, this properties window only has a General tabthat lets you rename the folder.Any ideas how I can fix this?
I'm running Windows 7 and using Windows Live Mail for Email. I delete all old incoming Emails every few days, but sometimes let the Deleted file grow to over a thousand. A few weeks ago, hundreds of old, deleted Emails showed up as 'New' (incoming) Emails. So I deleted them again, and then emptied the entire contents of the Deleted file. Solution: Log into the Web-mail interface (if one is available for your mail server) and manually move or delete any messages that are being downloaded repeatedly. If the condition re-occurs frequently you may need to uninstall and then re-install your email software application.
