In Bethesda games they re just recording your progress. And it is perfectly natural for human being wanting to have a token of their actions. Be it games or something else.
In my experience, the only achievements you can get with mods installed in most games are ones that actually come with the mods. Some official mods/DLC (like Skyrim) are exceptions to this rule, because the mods/addons are made in a way that doesn't disrupt the work needed to get the achievements. Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Special Edition Achievements. There are 75 achievements with a total of 1550 points. So whenever you want to go for some Achievements you can disable your mods in-game and load an unmodded save. If the achievements are just copy/pasted from regular Skyrim then they are REALLY easy to get so it shouldn't take long. You get most of them just from playing the game normally.

I cannot care less of achievements, but I always play Bethesda games trough in vanilla once anyway - how else I know what I want to mod, if I do not try the game as it is 1st. Well if you have lots of time to test.I found at least one mod that stays memory resident even after the in game memory wipe after you turn off all mods.Scenario: At one point I had the fun mod save and some try at vanilla for achievements (I have tried and failed many times.I just don't dig vanilla, oddly besides some fun mods.I make the game harder as well, Bethesda's sad excuse for nighttime light levels the first to go.night is supposed to be dark imo).My Night started on the mod save. Does it keep achievements I then wondered. I still had that cheesy run around DC achievement not done and said well easy enough to test there. Starcraft 2 arcade zombie world. And moments later.achievement notice.Still didn't keep interest to play vanilla though so achievement zealots chill.I only soiled 1 achievement, a kind of dumb one, imo, at that.

It wasn't that I wanted them, but I couldn't find a mod that would just kill that insulting little pop-up warning me that with mods I couldn't earn them that I saw every single time I loaded my save. I did have mod to enable achievements to test it for someone originally, but when i did re-install and thought I don't need it, then having M on some saves, messed up my saves folder (nowadays they are split by mod manager according character name and difficulty etc) so I found its easier me to carry on as I had. PC has ye old console. Mission acting buggy? Good chance a quick visit to console fixes that. Have done all to get the quest item and the NPC just said nah.I am going to forget how to do that. Reset, additem, etc and voila you could fix that up right quick.

Wanted to keep your achievements going (NV at least on steam, can't recall FO3 since so long, save and restart the game and the use of tilde forgotten).Console play full time was the eye opener. Here enters the fun of bethesda games you see from time to time, especially since console lacks a well.console, you learn to walk around bugs to avoid them. Sometimes, at least on console, you aren't playing this game how you want to play it. You are playing it how it wants to be played.Fortunately MA's and porters of mods help out a lot here now.
